THE 5 PILLARS OF ISLAM

Belief in the Oneness of God: Muslims believe that God is the creator of all things, and that God is all-powerful and all-knowing
1

Shahadah

Is a declaration of one’s belief that there is no God but Allah ﷻ and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is His Messenger

2

Salat

Salah means daily prayer; a Muslim’s day consists of five obligatory prayers per day. Muslims can pray anywhere; however, they are meant to pray towards Mecca

3

Zakat

A Muslim must share his or her wealth to those less fortunate by contributing 2.5% of their profitable wealth to charity each and every year.

4

Fasting

During the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, Muslims are expected to fast from dawn to dusk

5

Hajj

All Muslims who are able are required to make the pilgrimage to Mecca and the surrounding holy sites at least once in their lives.
